Our Mission

It’s like in the great stories, Mr. Frodo. The ones that really mattered, full of darkness and danger they were. Sometimes you didn’t want to know the end, because how could the end be happy. How could the world go back to the way it was when there’s so much bad that had happened? But in the end it’s only a passing thing, this shadow; even darkness must pass.

A new day will come, and when the sun shines, it will shine out the clearer. Those are the stories that stay with you, that meant something, even if you were too small to understand why.

But I think, Mr. Frodo, I do understand. I know now. Folk in those stories had lots of chances for turning back, only they didn’t. They kept going because they were holding on to something.

… there’s some good left in this world Mr. Frodo…and it’s worth fighting for!

Wow, you guys :) This number right here is awesome. Not 500 or 1000 followers…but 170 individuals who are striving for hope.

This made my entire night. Thanks to each and everyone of you for your support!

Please, don’t hesitate to drop by and submit your thoughts or questions.

Make a safety kit for when you want to cut. Use all five senses. So put a candle maybe for smell, and light it when you have urges. You could put brownie mix for taste and make brownies when you have urges. For feel you could put a favorite teddy bear or a texture that you like. For sound put a favorite song or somebody’s name and talk to them when you have urges. etc…” -http://howsheavendaddy.tumblr.com/

I thought this was a wonderful idea, so I put together a little guide for everyone to use! My thanks and credit goes to the submitter :)

Note: If you are still having urges after using your kit, I STRONGLY urge you to call 911 or a close friend. Self-harm has never and never will be the answer.

Update from the Staff

Sorry everyone for taking so long to post submissions and helpful tips…I’ve been struggling too, but I’m still clean and sober :) It’s been 5 months and I’m STILL going strong.

It’s times like this that gives me hope that I will continue to stay sober and stay away from triggers. I hope all of you find that strength or have already found it!

Stay gold~

kotomi:

My scars aren’t a sign of weakness, nor do they promote how “messed up” I am. I am NOT weak or messed up. Everyone deals with their stress in a different way…some people just so happen to pick up this hard-to-beat addiction.

These scars remind me where I was before and to never go back again. I relapsed countless times, but I’m still trying. I’m not a quitter, so I will beat this one day!

My name is Brittney and I’ve been clean and sober for 4 months!
